Legal services are offered through clearly defined engagement levels. Each level specifies the scope of work, responsibilities, and fees before any work begins. All matters start with a conflict check.
Level A – Initial Consultation
Flat fee · No ongoing representation
An initial consultation to review the matter and provide a preliminary assessment. This service is intended to help identify issues, options, and next steps.
The fee for an initial consultation is $400
Level B – Expanded Review and Advisory
Hourly · Deposit required
This level includes additional document review, research, or a longer conference to provide further analysis and guidance.
Services are billed at the applicable hourly rate after receipt of a deposit, typically ranging from $1,000 to $2,500.
Level C – Document Review and
Ghostwriting
Hourly · Client files documents
At this level, services may include reviewing, revising, or drafting documents on behalf of the client where the client remains responsible for filing and submission.
Services are billed at the applicable hourly rate after receipt of a deposit, typically ranging from $2,500 to $10,000. No court appearances are included.
Level D – Limited Scope Representation
Defined tasks only · Limited entry into case · Representation ends when task is complete
Limited scope representation involves entering a case solely for defined tasks such as specific pleadings, negotiations, or appearances. Representation ends upon completion of the agreed task.
Services are billed at the applicable hourly rate after receipt of a deposit, which may range up to $25,000 depending on the scope of work.
Level E – Full Representation
Ongoing representation · Case-specific scope · Deposits required
Full representation involves ongoing legal services based on the nature and complexity of the matter. Fees and required deposits are determined on a case-by-case basis and outlined in a written engagement agreement.
Landlord and Tenant Matters
Separate fee structures · Unlawful detainer matters · Case-dependent scope
Certain landlord and tenant matters may be handled under separate fee arrangements. Straightforward unlawful detainer matters involving basic lease issues typically require a deposit of approximately $3,000 and are governed by a specific fee agreement. More complex landlord-tenant disputes or matters involving business or possessory issues are handled under the Level C engagement model.
Scope Limitations
No representation without written agreement · Conflict check required
Unless expressly agreed to in writing, services do not include court appearances or acting as attorney of record. No legal services are provided until a conflict check has been completed and a written engagement agreement is in place.
