John C. Rarick is an experienced California attorney, primarily serving clients in Lake, Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. He provides consultation for any case in California. Admitted to the State Bar of California, he holds a Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School (Certificate in Intellectual Property and Fellow in Intellectual Property) along with an MBA from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Human Physiology from UC Davis.

Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Rarick founded a consumer-packaged goods company for natural, healthy snack alternatives. At Peak Harvest Foods, LLC, he taught himself trademark law and successfully defended the company’s mark, “Quality You Can Crunch” against In-n Out Burger in proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). He also negotiated a favorable settlement with POM Wonderful.

His real-world experience in business and finance, and hands-on experience defending intellectual property at the administrative level gives him unique insight into the parallel business, operational, and strategic issues that frequently arise in legal disputes, including estate planning (trusts), partnerships and separation and divorce proceedings

Today, Mr. Rarick focuses his practice on estate planning, entity formation and corporate governance and navigating disputes in real property, including landlord-tenant issues, family law (retraining orders, divorce and separation), wage and hour and wrongful termination claims, as well as, contracts, trade secrets, trademarks, and complex civil and business litigation. He serves as corporate counsel to businesses, drafting handbooks, employment agreements, arbitration provisions, intellectual property protections, and governance documents. Clients benefit from his close, personal involvement throughout every matter. From the first client meeting through investigation, strategy development, and courtroom presentation, Mr. Rarick ensures each case is thoroughly prepared and presented in the most favorable light.
